Paris Hilton was reportedly left fuming after a tense interview on an American talk show this week as she was forced to defend her latest reality TV show amid fierce criticism of the "fluffy" and "frivolous" lifestyle she portrays onscreen.
The socialite has returned to TV with a new fly-on-the-wall series called The World According To Paris and she appeared on the popular panel show on Wednesday to plug her project.
However, she came under fire from host Whoopi Goldberg, who criticised Hilton for showing herself shopping in the first episode, telling Hilton, "Why would you show them you shopping? Do you not think it make you seem a bit fluffy?"
Hilton replied, "That's just a small part of the show, the show shows a lot more than just shopping." Barbara Walters was next to take aim, slamming the hotel heiress for filming the show from such a "frivolous point of view".

She went on to criticise Hilton for scenes in which she was shown complaining about her community service duties, which she has been carrying out as part of a plea deal stemming from a drug arrest last year.
