Director Rakesh Roshan has re-released his iconic film `Karan Arjun` and revealed the movie`s intriguing and complex casting history. Initially, the roles were supposed to be played by Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan, but due to certain issues, the casting plans changed. Roshan almost signed Aamir Khan to star opposite Salman Khan, but later decided to replace Aamir with Shah Rukh Khan. Roshan also shared an interesting anecdote about Shah Rukh’s initial reluctance to accept the film`s theme of reincarnation. However, after the massive success of Karan Arjun, Shah Rukh humorously admitted his misjudgment and the director even joked that the success of the film inspired him to make `Om Shanti Om.` When asked if he would consider remaking `Karan Arjun,` Roshan suggested that Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor would be his ideal choices for the new version.
