British musician Ed Sheeran kickstarted his Mathematics Tour in India with his gig in Pune on January 30.
He took to Instagram and shared a series of pictures from his time in Indian cities, interacting with locals.
Unlike his contemporaries, Ed's photo dump was filled with unique frames, a proof of his wholesome experience in India.
Armaan Malik opened the show for Ed in Hyderabad. He is known for chartbusters like ‘You’, ‘Control’, and ‘Butta Bomma’, and has been at the forefront of taking Indian music to a global audience.
Speaking about Armaan, Ed said, “I met this man in 2021, and it's been quite a journey together... He is such a good friend."
In Chennai, Ed was joined by music legend AR Rahman. Ed took to Instagram and expressed his gratitude for receiving an "honour" to share the stage with Rahman.
The duo not only interacted with fans but also belted out a remix of Ed's Shape of You and Rahman's Urvasi.
Ed Sheeran delivered a mesmerizing performance in Bengaluru. He was joined by Shilpa Rao during the concert, marking an iconic collaboration as they sang a Telugu song 'Chuttamalle' on the stage.
"Gave out some pink shirts to the local kids football team in Shillong," wrote Ed on Instagram.
The Mathematics Tour is the ongoing fourth concert tour by Ed Sheeran. It comprises 131 shows, the tour commenced on 23 April 2022 in Dublin, Ireland.
The India leg of the tour kicked off in Pune on January 30 and included stops in Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Delhi and Shillong.
Sheeran's first performance in India was held in 2015. In November 2017, he returned for a show at Jio World Garden in Bandra Kurla Complex despite being injured.
Last year he performed in Mumbai as part of his Asia and Europe Tour. Filmmaker Farah Khan threw a grand party for him at one of the most posh restaurants in Mumbai.
