Kareena Kapoor Khan is turning co-producer on her upcoming film, The Buckingham Murders. Directed by Hansal Mehta, it marks the actress' return to the silver screen after Laal Singh Chaddha in 2022. The thriller was the first film she shot after welcoming her second son, Jeh Ali Khan. Today, Kareena confirmed the title of the film and announced its premiere at the 67th BFI London Film Festival. 


Sharing the announcement, Kareena wrote, "'The Buckingham Murders’ a journey that @hansalmehta, @ektarkapoor and I took is premiering at the 67th BFI London Film Festival. It is an atmospheric thriller, that explores themes of loss, closure and the immigrant experience. What makes this moment even more special is that it’s one of the three films from India that made it to the festival! If you happen to be in the UK, we hope you can watch it, it's being shown at the Curzon Mayfair on 14th and 15th October."

The official synopsis of The Buckingham Murders read, "Fresh wounds are reopened when Jasmeet Bhamra, a cop and single mother who recently lost her child in a shooting spree, transfers to High Wycombe and is assigned the case of a missing child. Director Hansal Mehta explores themes of trauma, closure and the immigrant experience with his signature sensitivity in this atmospheric thriller, featuring a career-best performance by Kapoor."

Kareena also unveiled her look from The Buckingham Murders. In one of the pictures, she can be seen in a black suit. The second image featured the actress in a coat. 

Kareena announced her collaboration with Ektaa and Hansal on August 10, 2021. She wrote, "New beginnings (sic)." Ektaa shared a picture with Kareena and wrote, "Here’s to wishing Kareena Kapoor Khan the best on her journey as a producer…adding another feather to her already illustrious career! Workwise, Kareena will be seen in the Netflix film, Jaane Jaan, with Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat. It releases on her birthday, September 21, 2023. She has reunited with Ektaa and Rhea Kapoor on The Crew also starring Tabu, Kriti Sanon and Diljit Dosanjh.
