Taapsee Pannu has had a roaring rise as an actor in Bollywood ever since Baby happened with Neeraj Pandey in 2015. Ever since then, she has acted in films like Pink, Mulk, Soorma, Manmarziyaan, Thappad, Badla, Mission Mangal, Game Over, and Saand Ki Aankh.

But in an interview with Elle India, she said she knows she has a limited run at the movies as an actress and also reflects upon the pay disparity in the industry. She said, "As a female actor, I don't get paid at par with my male counterparts. I am also aware that I have a limited prime run in the films, so I have to maximise on my time! I can't afford to sit at home now that work is picking up after the pandemic-induced lull."

She added, "I have clarity of goals. I know what I want—this is sometimes intimidating and indigestible for others." When asked about her social media followers, this is what the actress had to say, "An organically earned following, not bought. I am an extrovert and share genuine posts. No picture I put up is airbrushed. People connect with me, as my content is not fed into a forcefully created image."

The actress also shed light on what her films and characters mean to her and how she plans to take forward her career. Pannu stated, "Every film I do validates me, I get bored easily, but acting energises me, with its multitude of characters…I also want to do a Judwaa 2 subsequently, to prove my versatility, to establish that I can carry off potboilers with equal elan."

Pannu is now gearing up for Rashmi Rocket, Loop Lapeta, Haseen Dillruba, and the Mithali Raj biopic. In Rashmi Rocket, she plays an athlete and has been sharing pictures of her physical transformation with fans on social media of late.
