Shilpa Shetty on being trolled for wearing shoes while hoisting flag: I am aware of the "rules" of conduct

Shilpa Shetty was severely trolled on social media by netizens for wearing shoes while hoisting the flag. Shilpa responded to those who criticised her in her Instagram comments

Shilpa Shetty Kundra celebrated India's 77th Independence Day with her family. She shared a video of herself wearing a beautiful kurta set with an orange dupatta and hoisting our national flag with her children and other family members. However, she was severely trolled on social media by netizens for wearing shoes while hoisting the flag. Shilpa responded to those who criticised her in her Instagram comments by giving a befitting reply to them. 

Shilpa took to her Instagram and posted the video of her Independence Day celebration and wrote, "वन्दे मातरम्  #JaiHind #IndependenceDay #76YearsOfIndependence #VandeMataram #ProudIndian #gratitude #blessed (sic.)"

As soon as the actress dropped the video, Shilpa received a lot of backlash from users. The ‘Dhadkan’ actress reacted to the trolls and said, "I am aware of the "Rules" of conduct while hoisting the flag, the RESPECT for my country and THE FLAG stems from my heart and not up for questioning. I am a proud Indian. Today’s post was to share and celebrate that emotion. To all the trollers( that I ignore usually )DO NOT appreciate YOU airing your ignorance and spreading negativity on this Day. So get your facts rights and please BACK OFF."

Apart from this, the actress also shared a screenshot of an article that says that the Flag Code of India doesn’t restrict the hoisting of the national flag with shoes on. With the screenshot, the actress added #facts along with the sticker of the tricolour.

On the work front, Shilpa Shetty was last seen in Priyadarshan's comedy flick 'Hungama 2' with Paresh Rawal in 2021 and 'Nikamma' with Abhimanyu Dassani in 2022. Shilpa is presently a judge on the tenth season of India's Got Talent, which premiered on July 29, 2023. The actress serves as a judge on the popular show with Kirron Kher and Badshah. She will also be seen in the Kannada film KD - The Devil.

Apart from this, Shilpa is all set to make her web show debut and will soon be seen opposite Sidharth Malhotra in Rohit Shetty's OTT series Indian Police Force.
