Ranbir Kapoor, in a live chat, gave an update about the second part of Ayan Mukerji's magnum opus. When talking about Brahmastra Part 2, Ranbir shared that it is going to be 10 times bigger than the first part.

In the live chat that made his way to Reddit has Ranbir saying, “So Brahmastra 2 is heavy into writing. We are working on it all the time, it was just last week that Ayan narrated the film to me. Ayan has gone ten times bigger than part 1, his idea, his thought, the characters. He is working on War 2 right now, so the plan is to finish War 2 by mid-next year and we start shooting hopefully by end of next year, or beginning of next to next year. But definitely there's a lot of work which is already happening on the film in the writing process.”

Ranbir also addressed the criticism the team has received after Part-1 and shared, "We have really understood the kind of criticism we got for the film. What worked for it and what didn't work for it. So we want to put everything into consideration. From the dialogues or people saying that Shiva and Isha's chemistry was somewhere missing... There was a lot of criticism that was constructive so we are taking that into our stride, and trying to understand that and kind of go beyond that."

Recently, when his film ‘Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva’ completed one year in Hindi cinema, filmmaker Ayan Mukerji debunked all rumours of the franchise getting shelved and said that the second and third instalments of Brahmastra are "in progress."

He took to Instagram, where he shared a video comprising scenes from the film and wrote: "On 9th Sept 2022 we introduced you to a world of astras. Celebrating 1 year of Brahmastra. Brahmastra part two and three development in progress."

On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor will next be seen in the gangster-action-thriller film 'Animal,' alongside Rashmika Mandanna. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, 'Animal' will hit theatres on December 1 in five languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
