Still from Hamare Baarah

Annu Kapoor's upcoming film 'Hamare Baarah' has been gaining a lot of limelight. The film landed in legal trouble earlier, but now there is good news regarding the release of the Annu Kapoor starrer. It has been said that the Bombay High Court has allowed the makers to release the movie after the makers removed two dialogues.

Just after the release of the film's trailer, it received a lot of backlash, and the cast of the film also received death threats. The Bombay High Court then imposed a stay on the film until June 14. But now, reportedly, with the removal of the ban, the movie will hit theaters on its scheduled release date, which is June 7.

Ban in Karnataka

The Karnataka government has banned the release or broadcast of the movie 'Hamare Baarah' in the state for two weeks or until further notice. The decision is in accordance with the Karnataka Cinema Regulations Act 1964, sections 15(1) and 15(5). The Karnataka government alleged that the release of 'Hamare Baarah' would create communal tension in the state. Authorities made this decision after considering requests from several minority organizations and delegations, and after watching the trailer.

About Death Threats

Following the death threats, Annu Kapoor met Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. He said that the Chief Minister has assured the team of protection against the elements issuing threats to them.

About the Film

'Hamare Baarah' revolves around a man, Manzoor Ali Khan Sanjari, who, despite losing his first wife during childbirth, continues to have more children with his second wife, now pregnant with her sixth. Khan refuses an abortion when the doctor highlights the risks to the mother's life during pregnancy. His daughter from the first wife decides to save her stepmother and takes her father to court to demand an abortion. The film follows the court procedure of Alfiya going against her father in court to save her stepmother's life.

Jointly produced by Birender Bhagat, Ravi S. Gupta, Sanjay Nagpal, and Sheo Balak Singh, and directed by Kamal Chandra, 'Hamare Baarah' promises to deliver a compelling narrative, shedding light on a pressing social issue.
