Taut thrillers usually have little room for songs. In his bid to lend mass appeal to 'Drishyam 2', however, Ajay Devgn has decided to incorporate four songs in the narrative. For the job, he has roped in south composer Devi Sri Prasad, who is enjoying his moment in the sun, courtesy 'Oo antava' from 'Pushpa: The Rise' (2021). A source reveals that 'Drishyam 2' director Abhishek Pathak and Devgn zeroed in on him after seeing the raging success of Pushpa’s music. “While the music for the Malayalam 'Drishyam' franchise was given by Anil Johnson, Devi Sri will handle the songs and background score for the Hindi remake. He is one of the highest-paid composers in Tollywood, and has delivered several hits in his 20-year career,” says the source.

Following the blueprint of Mohanlal’s 'Drishyam 2' (2021), the upcoming Hindi adaptation will see Devgn’s character as a now-prosperous businessman who will go to great lengths to protect his family as the secret of his past rears its head. Of the four songs that will comprise the album, two tracks have already been shot. “The remaining two songs will be shot in Goa in the first week of October. One will be a romantic track, and the other, a situational catchy dance number that will feature Ajay, Tabu, Akshaye Khanna and the rest of the cast. Devi Sri is working on these songs now,” adds the source.
