Vidya received accolades for her performance in the Milan Luthria-directed film, which was a biographical drama film inspired by the life of Silk Smitha, a South Indian actress.

Since then, the 37-year-old actress has been offered quite a few biopic films, including on former Prime Minister late Indira Gandhi, slain former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, late actress Suchitra Sen and Bharat Ratna awardee vocalist MS Subbulakshmi.

"Even I keep hearing. I am not thinking of biopic films.

Once I confirm it, I will let you all know," Vidya told PTI.

The "Paa" actress will be seen in a special performance in a biopic titled "Ek Albela".

"I am not doing any preparation for the film... it's a special appearance. It will release in January," she said.

She is playing the role of renowned yesteryear Bollywood actress Geeta Bali in the Marathi film "Ek Albela".

"Ek Albela" traces the journey of Bhagwan Dada's film career as an actor and director, and Vidya's role will be credited as a special appearance.

The actress thinks the perception towards small budget films is gradually changing.

"There is change in viewing preferences of audiences in India. Our audience is diverse...there is an appetite for every kind of a film," she said.

"And slowly we are seeing small films in theatres and with festivals like MAMI, things are going to get better. But this won't change overnight. We have come a long way. It is refreshing to see new kind of films coming up," she said.

Vidya was there at the closing ceremony of the recently concluded MAMI film festival in Mumbai.

"It's (festival) been incredible this time... have managed to do unbelievable. I have been to MAMI initially and kudos to the team to scaling it up this time, not only in organising events like the pening at Gateway of India and getting mainstream industry folks," she said.

"I was on the jury and I was amazed with the talent.

Also, the selection of films was incredible. We all respond to films as people. I had an amazing time at MAMI this year," she said.
