Sanjana Sanghi spills the beans on 'Dhak Dhak' sequel

The 2023 road adventure drama "Dhak Dhak" starring Sanjana Sanghi, Ratna Pathak Shah, Dia Mirza Rekhi, and Fatima Sana Shaikh received a lot of love from movie buffs. Now, Sanjana has finally revealed if the makers are working on a sequel. During an exclusive interaction with IANS, Sanjana shared, "People showered a lot of love on Netflix to our film 'Dhak Dhak' and because of that we are coming up with a sequel, which I am very very excited about." While the 'Dil Bechara' actress did not reveal many details about the sequel, it would be exciting to see what the makers come up with next. Penned and directed by Tarun Dudeja, "Dhak Dhak" has been produced by Ajit Andhare, Kevin Vaz, Pranjal Khandhdiya, and Taapsee Pannu under the banner of BLM Pictures. It narrates the motivating tale of four women who set out for a road trip to the highest motorable pass in the world on their bikes on a journey of self-discovery. The movie which was filmed just within 40 days reached the audience on 13 October 2023. When asked if the reason for her doing few films is her focus on social work, Sanjana told IANS, "I am not intentionally doing fewer films. It has been four years since my debut, and I have been a part of four projects ever since- we also faced a worldwide pandemic (coronavirus) within that time. Additionally, our industry has been going through a rough patch ever since last year- so, as young actors, we also have to adjust to those changing scenarios. The intention is to do work all the time and lots of it. Even if I do four films in a year, social work will still be my focus. We are all waiting for our industry to be good and healthy again so that the ball can get rolling in the same way that it was before." People are not happy says Richa Chadha on the growing sadness in India

Actress Richa Chadha held a mirror to society as she reflected on the growing inexplicable sadness among people through her latest post. She penned on her IG, "For the past few months, I have been grappling with something, while experiencing my life as a new mom, almost as a witness... and with that emotions that come like waves of the ocean. High tide and low tide. The 'Fukrey' actress added, "No matter who I speak to, whether they live in India or not, doesn't matter if they're young or old, no matter the gender, whether they are atheists or God-fearing, whether artists or normies - there is an inexplicable sadness. A feeling of impending and imminent doom a numb kind of hopelessness, born out of strife and struggle." Speaking about the growing impact of AI, she went on to say, "Economic uncertainty does not help. There is a feeling that either they would lose relevance in this fast changing world or their jobs may become obsolete. This is a very real fear in the face of AI. I get it." Talking about how health issues among the young are increasing rapidly, Richa wrote, "There is a pervasive anxiety about the future which ever lens you look at it from. Perhaps the pandemic changed us and our surroundings more than we are able to confess to ourselves. There is also chaos as far as health is concerned. While many are walking up to the reality that nature is the source of wealth and development cannot be at the cost of our habitat, most are alarmed at even the young just dropping dead." She added, "Something has changed. Something is amiss. Maybe whatever we have been told about the world we live in is a lie. Perhaps whatever we are not told about 'true human nature' is nothing but the imagination of a paranoid, unhappy man." Richa concluded, "Bottom line- people are not happy. And we here certainly rank among the least happy nations in the world at present." Toward the end, she asked a question that will certainly make you think - "What went wrong?" Ayan shoots patch scenes for War 2 with body double; Hrithik to join soon

Hiccups are a given when making a big-budget actioner. Just in March, Hrithik Roshan suffered a major injury while shooting a dance sequence with Jr NTR for the Ayan Mukerji-directed War 2. The accident stalled the shoot for over a month. While Roshan is on track for a speedy recovery, the director recently canned a brief patch sequence near Mazgaon Docks with the rest of the cast. “The patch shoot was carried out with body doubles and junior artistes. Hrithik is still in recovery, undergoing regular movement training and physiotherapy,” reveals an insider. The source adds, “He’s expected to resume filming towards the end of April once he gets a go-ahead from his medical team.” Mukerji is working closely with the team to restructure the remaining schedule around Roshan’s recovery. “Ayan’s back with a laser focus,” shares the source. Ayan Mukerji Since the delay in March, Mukerji and his team have used the downtime to lock post-production on the completed portions and fine-tune upcoming sequences. A source says, “The makers are confident about wrapping the film by May. There’s a tight turnaround ahead, but YRF [Yash Raj Films] is used to managing massive schedules. Hrithik is being monitored closely, and the dance scenes will resume only when he’s 100 per cent fit. The film will be released as scheduled on August 14.” When Hrithik went above and beyond In 2012: Before filming Krrish 3 (2013), Hrithik Roshan had a double slipped disc—so much so that filmmaker-father Rakesh Roshan considered dropping the film entirely. In 2013: Hrithik Roshan suffered a head injury while performing stunts for Bang Bang (2014), which resulted in a subdural haematoma (a blood clot in the brain). In early 2016: While shooting for Mohenjo Daro (2016), Hrithik Roshan sprained his ankle, tearing two ligaments, during a hand-to-hand combat sequence.

Babil Khan

Babil on viral apology video: ‘That sorry, sorry, sorry was me being anxious'

To Babil Khan, Logout presented an unmissable opportunity. Playing an influencer obsessed with internet validation in a thriller helmed by Amit Golani of TVF Pitchers fame felt like a “gift” to the actor. The Zee5 film also gave him the means to satiate his curiosity to understand people’s need for internet validation. “I auditioned for it after Friday Night Plan [2023]. I didn’t have the luxury to choose. It was as if life gave me a gift to have the opportunity to perform this character in Amit sir’s [film]. I’m not an avid social media user. I post something and leave; I don’t scroll at all. But I wanted to understand what it is that makes people sacrifice their self-worth for validation from people you can’t even see,” he says. Last year, Khan experienced the unforgiving side of the internet when he was trolled after a video of him from an event went viral. The clip featured him apologising to a female celebrity multiple times after he realised he stood in front of her to get clicked at the red carpet. Netizens were quick to label his behaviour “extra” and “pretentious”. “I was being too nice, though,” he smiles, before pointing out that the reaction was instinctive given the situation. “That ‘sorry sorry sorry’ was me being anxious. Whatever it became was a beast of its own. Some particular memes hurt me. I sat with [the feeling]. But I was scuba diving after that. I still could make music and read my books. It didn’t make me trust myself less.”  (From left) Rasika Dugal and Babil Khan in Logout But that incident made Khan step away from public appearances. A personal choice, he says. He explains, “I felt there were things I needed to work on within myself. It wasn’t out of bitterness.” What were the changes he felt he needed to incorporate? “I thought that there has to be a balance between the job of a celebrity, that of an actor and who you are as a human being. You have to find bridges between all of them.” While many trolled the actor for the episode, a section also appreciated Khan’s chivalrous behaviour, something he has maintained since his debut with Qala (2022). Khan says he looks at the current times as a chance to transform the idea of an alpha male. “After Gen-Z, generation Alpha has come in. It’s a great opportunity to evolve the alpha male. You can be the most macho man and still be respectful.”
