Shah Rukh Khan now has a new lucky charm.

The actor was given holy beads after a recent visit to the dargah in Ajmer, where he went to offer prayers on his mother's death anniversary. He carries it on his person at all times and has even been flaunting it at his appearances at IPL matches since.

Reveals a source, "They are supposed to not only protect him from any evil, but also bring him good luck and have been blessed by a maulvi."

Last December, he started wearing an emerald ring on the little finger of his right hand, as suggested by wife Gauri after consultation with an astrologer. Recently he has also been wearing a coral ring along with a gold band he normally sports on his right hand ring finger.

A source explains the actor's turn to spirituality of late. "He's never been outwardly religious. Deep down, he's an extremely God fearing man, and has always believed that greater powers have had a lot to do with his success.

But now he's started believing in astrology and has also been consulting with people who are well-versed in the field."
