Looks like Sonam Kapoor is in the mood to succeed Rekha, be it in films or in advertisements. Having worked in the remake of her 1980 classic, 'Khoobsurat', Sonam is now said to have replaced the veteran actress as the face of an international chocolate brand — Rekha's maiden endorsement.

A source says, "The brand was looking to revive its image through a new commercial and was, therefore, keen to have a young, fresh face endorse it. Several names from Bollywood, especially the younger lot, were floated and after initial talks with Sonam, they were convinced that she fit the bill for their marketing campaign."

It is said that Sonam did not think twice before accepting the offer. "She has recently shot for the new commercial and charged a good amount for it. She has replaced Rekha as well as Urmila Matondkar, who featured in the chocolate ad together. It was Rekha's first ever endorsement and the company was happy about having her in the ad. However, they have now changed their promotional plans and signed Sonam," the source suggests, adding that Rekha, too, was paid well for the endorsement.

Sonam's spokesperson remained unavailable for comment.
