Reddy to take off

Actress Sameera Reddy who will be seen in Priyadarshan's De Dhana Dhan is just back from a breather of a holiday from France. She tells CS about her love for travel:

1. My wanderlust
I start planning my next holiday the moment I return from one. I find the idea of travelling to a foreign land extremely fascinating. Even when, I was in college, I used to make a lot of these impromptu backpacking trips. And I never repeat holiday spots; it has to be a new place every time.

2. Into the unknown
I revel in all the experiences, right from sightseeing to relaxation to shopping and so on. You take me to Fifth Avenue in New York and I will get busy shopping, and I will equally love the ancient sites of Turkey. I am a complete traveller. For me, travel is a great stress-buster and a means of personal growth. After months of slogging, a break gives you a new lease of life. It's like a breath of fresh air.

3. Fave destinations
Most of us have a craze to travel abroad, but I find India equally fascinating. Dharamshala with its quaint and spiritual feel is one of my favourite spots. A road trip in Rajasthan has also been one of my favourite trips. The Ranakpur temples are among the best that I've ever seen. I enjoy scuba diving. Sharm-El-Shaikh in Egypt is a great place for diving. The waters of the Red Sea are warm and have great marine life.

4. Soaking it in
I always make it a point to sample local food, so whether it's fried grasshoppers in Thailand or something equally weird, it's important for me to try out new things. Historical sites also interest me deeply. The Colosseum in Rome and Notre Dame-de-Fourriere in Lyon, France are mind-blowing. I like exploring off-beat destinations and spots, so I stay away from tourist restaurants and eat at small local joints.
