Suniel Shetty has vowed that he will never produce a film again. Few minutes into Loot, and you probably know what must have prompted him to take this decision. The project had been stuck for the last few years and now that it is finally out, there is nothing worth the wait. Though touted as a masaledaar comic caper, it's simply a bland and insipid hodge-podge.

It seeks inspiration from the 2003 Hollywood flick Crime Spree starring Gerard Depardieu and Harvey Keitel about a bunch of guys going for that one big last kill only to find things going wrong for them. But there is barely anything that seems right in Loot even when it tries to soak in the sights of Thailand.

As in several recent Hindi flicks like Dhamaal, there is a foursome here too --- Pandit (Govinda) Builder (Shetty), Akbar (Jaffrey) and Wilson (Chakraborthy) who come together for a heist that takes them to Pattaya. A case of mistaken identity leads them to attacking the wrong person which ends up in a scramble with several assorted characters like Virus (Mika) and Lala (Prem Chopra) thrown in.

The female brigade has nothing much to do. It includes Tanya (Bharadwaj) and SMS (Sharma). The former gets bumped off after doing her cleavage acts while the latter appears only to disappear.

What could have been a laugh riot with Govinda and Jaffrey does not even evoke chuckles. The dialogues are a mix of either double meaning or rhyming ones. Examples: "Pattaya..kisko pattaya? ufffd. Wilson from Bandra ufffd.thought it was Sandra from Bandra."
