Kamal Haasan will mark his return to Hindi cinema after a gap of two years with a self-directed film 'Amar Hain'

Whenever the Tamil superstar and auteur Kamal Haasan has a film lined up for release, the excitement and anticipation go sky high. This time is no different: 'Uttama Villain', a Tamil comedy-drama, is set to be one of the biggest releases of 2015 in the South and is among the most anticipated films of the year. Haasan has produced, written and acted in this film. With this, the audience can expect nothing short of a star-burst, not just fireworks.

But what has the Twitterati and glitterati buzzing is not just 'Uttama Villain', but the star's return to Hindi cinema with a project which he will helm and feature in as well. The film, 'Amar Hain', is being produced by Virendra K Arora and Arjun N Kapoor in collaboration with a leading studio. The producers are in news for a slew of films, including 'Abhi Nahi Toh Kabhi Nahi', a family entertainer, and 'Sitaarey', which is a musical from the '70s era. Both the films are slated to release in 2016.
Virendra K Arora
This is not just a solo hero film for Kamal Haasan — he will share screen space with one of the biggest names in Bollywood (the makers want to keep the A-lister's name under wraps). The two talented stars from the North and South working together promises to be a delight on screen.
Arora says, "With a brilliant concept and a director like Mr Haasan at the helm, we felt we had the right kind of combination to approach a Bollywood mega-star and thankfully it is all falling in place."
Kapoor deems it a 'huge honour' to be associated with Haasan. "The often over-used term 'institution' is a perfect fit for Mr Haasan and I am looking at this as an opportunity to gain knowledge and experience from him. With regard to the film, I promise it is going to be an enthralling experience for the audience to remember and cherish."
