Decision taken in view of current ban

In the light of the producers' ban on all new releases in multiplexes from the first week of April, Ghajini producer Madhu Mantena has decided to make what seems to be a smart move. He will re-release Ghajini in the first week of April with added footage.
But before Madhu could take a call on this re-release barely three months after the film's original release, he had to get his leading man's opinion on the matter. Aamir was all for it.
Coincidence
Says Madhu, "Ghajini is one of the biggest successes in recent times. By a happy coincidence, our film celebratesu00a0 100 days just when the strike is supposed to begin in April.
So it's a good time to bring back the film specially when the audience has no new films to look forward to."
Not just lead actor
But why did the producer need to take his leading man into confidence? "Aamir is not just the leading man of Ghajini. He contributed in a major way to every department, so any new decision on the film has to be in consultation with him."
Mantena is gearing up for an all-India re-release. "We'll go for a full-fledged release with about 200 prints. Hopefully, this time we'll again create some ripples."
