The "Force" star, 28, took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to share she is safe as she was shooting adjacent to the area of the explosion.
"Bomb set off just opp the mall we are currently in - can hear the sirens blazing all over- we are safe but feel terrible for the lives lost," Genelia posted on twitter.
A powerful bomb exploded outside a Hindu temple in Bangkok, killing at least 15 people.
The temple, which is dedicated to Lord Brahma, is located on a main road through Bangkok's commercial hub and is surrounded by three major shopping malls.
