Director-actor Farhan Akhtar has purchased a swanky bungalow on Bandstand. Apparently, the Rock On!! star bought the JB House bungalow a month ago.
Farhan, wife Adhuna and their two kids presently live with his mom Honey Irani and sister Zoya in a bungalow on Bandstand, which lies somewhere between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan's homes.
Fond of the locality
Says an insider, "Farhan had been looking out for a bungalow for a long time but he wanted one really close to his mom's place, as he has grown up in that house, and is very fond of that locality. A couple of months ago, he saw a bungalow in Juhu close to his dad Javed Akhtar's home but didn't shift there as it would mean moving away from his mom and his sis."
Most wanted address
According to real estate sources, Farhan's bungalow measures almost 10,000 sq ft and costs approximately Rs 35 crore. "It is sea-facing, which makes it the most-wanted address in that area," says the broker.u00a0
It's close by
Farhan's new place is quite close to his current address. However, it is not clear if he will demolish the existing bungalow and reconstruct a new one, or simply fix the structure before moving in with his wife and kids. According to a broker, Farhan even got the place registered nearly a month ago at the sub-registrar's office located in Bandra-Kurla Complex.
Farhan, whose next release Karthik Calling Karthik is complete and due for release soon, admits, "Yes, I have bought a bungalow next to mom's home as me and the kids, Shakya and Akira are very close to mom and wanted to be somewhere as close to her as possible. We got a nice place and the timing was right. We will start doing up the place in November and will shift whenever the place is ready."
When quizzed about why he wanted to get a new place when Honey has a spacious bungalow already, Farhan laughs, "Well, it's right next door and doesn't really feel like as if we are shifting out! The kids are growing up and need larger space but mom is just a few feet away.
