After his 2018 book, The Best Mistakes of My Life, Sanjay Khan is set to launch his next, Assalamualaikum Watan, which traces the role of Muslims in shaping India's heritage. The filmmaker-actor is keen that they join the mainstream and says the term 'minority' needs to be dispensed with as it comes with an inferior insignia. "The intention is to convince Indian Muslims to eliminate the immigrant mentality," he says. It also takes a look at their role in nation-building.

Producer, studio on collision course

This producer, the only non-filmmaker partner of a production house led by four partners, had dedicated himself to a film studio after they split. Now, there are rumours of a stand-off between him and the studio owing to differences. The hurt producer, whose hard work is not being acknowledged, has withdrawn himself from the upcoming ensemble sports biopic. There will be major trouble if this confrontation develops into an industry slugfest.
