In a career spanning over 60 years, Asha Bhosle has sung across many Hindi and regional film songs, popular music, ghazals, traditional Indian classical music, folk songs, qawwalis and Rabindra Sangeet.
On the personal front, Asha Bhosle went through a very low phase in October 2012 when her daughter, Varsha committed suicide at her Peddar Road home.
Soon after this incident, in a span of few years in September 2015, her older son Hemant died in Scotland. Reportedly, he had been battling cancer for many years.
