'He could've enjoyed all the luxuries:' PM Modi honours C Sankaran Nair legacy

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for honouring lawyer-nationalist C Sankaran Nair's legacy during a public gathering in Haryana. Akshay took to Instagram and shared a video of PM Modi remembering Nair's brave fight against Britishers after Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Akshay Kumar (@akshaykumar) "Thank you Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji for remembering the great Chettur Sankaran Nair ji and his contribution to our freedom struggle. It is so important that we as a nation, especially the younger generation values the great women and men who fought valiantly to ensure that we breathe in a free country! Our Kesari Chapter 2, is a humble effort to remind everyone that we must never take our freedom for granted," Akshay wrote. In his speech, PM recalled Nair's heroism in standing up against the British empire after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, where British troops fired on unarmed civilians in Amritsar on April 13, 1919, fuelling national outrage and galvanising the fight for independence. "He could have enjoyed all the luxuries, but inspired by Jallianwalah Bagh, he raised his voice against British atrocities. He was removed from his post. He was from Kerala and the incident took place in Punjab. Sankaran Nair ensured that the British government was brought to the court of law. He showed what unity and humanity actually mean. We should definitely learn from Sankaran Nair," PM said. PM Modi also urged public to remember Nair's contributions and learn valuable lessons from his life. "The people of Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh should know about Sankaran Nair. Every adult and child should be aware of his contributions. He is a great inspiration," he added. Notably, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is coming up with the film 'Kesari 2', in which he will be seen essaying the role of Sankaran Nair. Sharmila Tagore reviews grandson Ibrahim Ali Khan debut Naadaniyaan

Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, made his acting debut last month with the romantic drama Naadaniyaan. However, the film was met with largely negative reviews and harsh criticism from audiences. The film also starred Khushi Kapoor. The movie directed by Shauna Gautam and backed by Karan Johar was subject to harsh public reception, where the stars were not just criticized but trolled for the movie. Khan, who made his debut, was criticized for a lot of things. Now, Ibrahim’s grandmother and veteran actress Sharmila Tagore has shared her candid opinion on the film and his debut. Sharmila Tagore reviews Ibrahim Ali Khan's debut film In a recent interaction with AnandabazarPatrika.com, Sharmila spoke about her grandchildren Sara and Ibrahim, who are carving their paths in the film industry. She didn’t mince words when speaking about Naadaniyaan, saying, “Sara and Ibrahim are doing a wonderful job. Ibrahim’s film was not good, but he still looks very handsome. He has tried his best. These things shouldn’t really be said in front of everyone, but honestly, the picture isn’t great. Ultimately, the picture has to be good.” Soha Ali Khan’s advice for Ibrahim Ali Khan In a recent interview, actress Soha Ali Khan — who is also Ibrahim's aunt — offered some grounded advice to the young actor. While promoting her upcoming film Chhorii 2, Soha addressed the Naadaniyaan backlash and spoke about the importance of resilience in the film industry. “Number one, I think you need to have thick skin when you join this world. One needs to digest people’s opinions, or just not read the comments. But I feel, sometimes, it’s important to read them, because you can’t work in a vacuum. You have to be receptive to certain criticism, and you have to work on your craft and go forward,” Soha said in a conversation with Nayandeep Rakshit. She added, “The only thing you can do is have some kind of armor. Don’t shut yourself off from the world and surround yourself only with love and people who say positive things. Be open to criticism, introspect, and work toward your craft. Don’t let your film’s success or failure destroy you — but recognize where you need to improve and become better.”

Radhikka Madan slams AI-generated video of her suggesting plastic surgery

Radhikka Madan has reacted to a viral video on social media that claimed she went under the knife to sharpen her facial features. The actress gave a fitting response to those speculating that she had cosmetic surgery. Radhikka Madan slams AI video  Recently, a social media user shared a video featuring Radhikka Madan, with her facial features digitally altered using editing software. The user suggested that Radhikka had undergone multiple cosmetic treatments to look the way she does now. The caption read, “Remember Ishani from Colors TV's popular show? Radhikka Madan looks unrecognisable now after all that cosmetic work." The post even drew comparisons to actor Mouni Roy, stating, “Radhikka Madan really took notes from Mouni Roy — new face, new vibe.” The video fooled many into believing that Radhikka had indeed undergone cosmetic surgery to change her appearance. However, when Radhikka herself saw the video, she debunked the claims with a witty and sharp response. Mocking the use of AI in the video, she wrote, "Bas itne hi eyebrows upar kiye hain AI use karke? Aur karlo yaar... ye toh fir bhi natural lag raha hai."(“Is this all you've done with AI—just raised my eyebrows? Go ahead and do more, this still looks somewhat natural.”) After Radhikka's comment, many jumped to her support and slammed the creator for making false claims using an AI-generated video. When Radhikka commented on cosmetic surgery The actress had earlier spoken her thoughts about cosmetic surgery. In an interview with News18, she said, “I don’t judge people who get things done because it makes them feel confident and improves their self-image, which is very important... I didn’t feel the need at that point. People used to tell me that my jaw is a little tedha (crooked). Did they expect me to sit with a scale and measure it?” (laughs). I was quite surprised because I was Kareena Kapoor in my head. Maybe they couldn’t see it. I didn’t buy that at the time." The actress also said that if in the future she plans to go under the knife, she will do so without overthinking about it. “I still don’t buy it, but maybe I will after a few years. I don’t know — I may just get it done. It all depends on the kind of self-image I have at that point. I hope it remains the way it is right now. In my mind, I’m still Kareena Kapoor. And even if it’s not, I won’t judge myself. So, I’m pretty much okay with all of that,” she concluded.

Rakul Preet Singh's reaction to having a hypothetical gay son goes viral

Rakul Preet Singh is one of the most prominent actresses in Bollywood and South cinema. She began her career as a model and also contested in beauty pageants. Now, a video of the actress answering a question during the Miss India pageant has gone viral. While Rakul did not win the pageant, her answer from the Q&A round has resurfaced on social media, sparking widespread discussion among netizens. Rakul Preet Singh's old video from Miss India contest goes viral In the video, actor Fardeen Khan, serving as a judge, posed a question to Rakul. With a smile, he asked, “Take a deep breath, this is not the easiest question. If you found out your son is gay, what would be your reaction?” Rakul took a moment and gave an answer that surprised many — an answer which netizens now feel hasn’t aged well. She said, “Well, honestly, if I found out that my son was gay, I would be shocked. I would probably slap him. But then later, I feel choosing your sexuality is one’s own decision, and if he wants to go ahead with that, I have no problems. As far as I am concerned, I prefer to be straight." Rakul WTF 💀byu/Fun-Ferret-3300 inBollyBlindsNGossip The judges’ panel also included Sajid Nadiadwala and actress Kangana Ranaut. Meanwhile, actor Sonu Sood was seen standing beside Rakul as the host of the pageant. Netizens react to Rakul's answer The video is doing the rounds on Reddit, with users sharing their thoughts on the actress’s answer. Many were baffled and hoped that Rakul has since evolved in her thinking. One user commented, "At one point Kangana just gave up and started drawing doodles on her notepad." Another wrote, "The problem is that she said she would probably slap him for his sexuality. I don’t know what the other contestants said, but wanting to abuse somebody for their sexuality — even as a mother — is wrong." "Her answer consists of abuse and ignorance. Not a good look. Hope she has grown," another user added. Someone else gave further insight on the pageant: "This is from Miss India 2011. That year, all the top 5 answers were very disappointing. Rakul failed to make it to the top 3, but she got a chance to represent India at Miss Tourism 2011 in China." Another user felt she didn’t fully understand the question: "‘Prefer to be straight???’ I think she didn't understand the question properly." Meanwhile, some defended the actress and her response. "What’s wrong with the answer? She said what she felt. You want her to parrot a rehearsed answer like most contestants do just to win competitions, even if they don’t believe in what they’re saying," one user wrote. "I don’t think there was anything seriously wrong with what she said. As a straight Indian woman, having grown up in a society that struggles to accept homosexuality, it’s natural that she might react with shock. But she did later say that sexuality is a personal preference, and she would accept her son's choice. You can’t be sitting in 2025 and harshly judging something that was said more than a decade ago," another user reasoned.
