Ahead of Reema Kagti's Directorial Gold's release Akshay Kumar took to social media to share a fun BTS picture from the sets of his upcoming Gold along with director Reema Kagti. Known for his fun and jolly image, Akshay Kumar shared a fun picture with director Reema Kagti as they posed with mustaches. Akshay captioned the picture as "Who wore it better?"

Reema Kagti's Sports-drama, which is based on free India's first Gold at the London Olympics, will release on Independence Day. There has been a constant buzz around the film, ever since the trailer of the film is out. Excel Entertainment's Gold showcases the dream of Tapan Das played by Akshay Kumar, who wishes to win India's first gold medal in hockey as an independent nation.

As Akshay will essay the role of a Bengali, "A dialect tutor and a special trainer to explain traditional Bengali mannerisms have been working with Akshay" said Reema Kagti at the Music Launch of the film. Akshay is not completely new to Bengali as Akshay quoted " "A long time ago, I had stayed for a couple of years in Kolkata, West Bengal," Akshay said at Gold's music launch. The actor, therefore, was already familiar with the Bengali language and the state's culture."

Starring Akshay Kumar, Mouni Roy, Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Vineet Singh and Sunny Kaushal, Gold promises power packed performances by an ensemble cast. Excitement builds up as Tapan Das helps the team win India's first Gold on 12th August 1948. Uniting the nation with one dream, the trailer captures the patriotic sense of the film, hailing it to be the perfect Independence day release.

Gold is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, helmed by Reema Kagti and is all set to release on the 15th August 2018.
