Aamir and Twinkle were paired opposite each other in "Mela", a 2000 action film directed by Dharmesh Darshan which

The 40-year-old actress, who writes columns in a leading newspaper, launched her first book "Mrs Funnybones: She's Just Like You and a Lot Like Me" here last evening.

"I have worked with her in a film and she has always had a great sense of humour. It is a new step for her and I wish her all the best," Aamir said at the book launch.

When filmmaker Karan Johar, who was also present at the launch, asked Aamir if Twinkle is a talented actress, the actor said, "I didn't know that behind her is this sharp and talented woman."

On the occasion, Twinkle also revealed some of their moments while shooting for their film.

"Aamir once went behind a rock to cry because his director didn't listen to what he was saying," she said in a lighter vein.

Aamir, 49, also mentioned that he has read some of her articles and appreciated her writing style.

"I am a regular reader of Twinkle's articles. I know she is funny but I did not think that she would write a book,"
he said.
