16 Years of Sonam Kapoor: When she revealed on Koffee With Karan that Ranbir Kapoor is sexy only when he strips

It's been 16 years of Sonam Kapoor's debut in the Hindi film fraternity and it feels like she has just begun. The actress stepped into showbiz with a big-scale Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, titled Saawariya. It was one of the much-anticipated ventures as the film launched Sonam along with Ranbir Kapoor. Adding to the anticipation was Sonam and Ranbir's freshly baked, hot cake-like chemistry.

While fans drooled over Ranbir, Sonam ranked him zero on sex appeal in an episode of Koffee With Karan. When host Karan Johar asked during the rapid-fire round, "Rank in order of s*x appeal – Ranbir Kapoor, Imran Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan and John Abraham.” Sonam replied, "John is 1, Imran’s 2nd, third is Abhishek, fourth is Hrithik and 5th is Ranbir. Ranbir is a great actor but sex appeal…" 

Karan reacted, "Zero on sex appeal?” Sonam clarified, "No, I mean, only when he strips, you know? Jab Se Tere Naina, he used to take off his clothes." Deepika Padukone, who was the other guest on the episode, said, "Because she’s seen all of it. So, now…"

While talking to Karan, Sonam went on to reveal that she saw all of it because they switched on the fan during Jab Se Tere Naina's making and Ranbir's towel fell down. She said, "I had no choice, I was there at the shoot (laughing)." Deepika reacted, "Why was she there at the shoot? She wasn’t even in the song."

Sonam was reportedly dating Ranbir in the initial stage of her career. Deepika also dated him for quite some time. She even got his initials, 'RK' tattooed on the back of her neck. 

Sonam is now married to businessman Anand Ahuja and has a son named Vayu who was born in August 2022. They keep shuffling between London, Mumbai and Delhi. Deepika will complete 5 years of marriage with Ranveer Singh this month. Ranbir tied the knot with Alia Bhatt in April 2022. The couple has a daughter named Raha who just turned 1. Deepika and Alia are close friends and even appeared on Koffee With Karan together before the pandemic.
