Suraj Dighe
In Maharashtra, many political figures operate under the guise of great leaders. Suraj Dighe, an activist who founded his organisation "Shivsmarak Yuva Sangharsh Samiti" in 2020 with the goal of conserving their idol's forts and memorials, is a glimmer of hope. "The major purpose of our organisation is to discourage political parties from doing their business by exploiting the names of historic figures," Suraj Dighe, president of organisation explains.

His organisation distributes the word to Maharashtra's youth, which number in the thousands, encouraging them to follow the great ideologies of past leaders since only then can they achieve success in life. Suraj Dighe’s organisation has made few demands from the government. The first is to expedite the construction of the world's tallest statue of their idol in Mumbai, which is located on the Arabian Sea. Another demand is for the restoration and upkeep of their idol's more than 350 forts and monuments.
Other demands include: projecting the full history of Shivcharitra when Shivsmarka is completed, building a library where Shivcharitra may be read, maintaining the same height of Shivsmaraka as previously, and a museum and library depicting scenes from their idol's life. The organisation wants a temple, a museum, a hospital, a copy of each fort's entrance, and a theatre to tell the story of their idol's life.
The organisation has also sought that the Maratha Community be given a reservation; this was said on the Shivsmarak Yuva Sangharsh Samiti's Press Council. The organization's goal is to support the state's Maratha community.
President Suraj Dighe has been a fantastic president who has fully energised his organisation and instilled in them a never-say-die spirit.
