One of the key objectives as schools is to get pupils ready for a richer life outside of the classroom. It has long been a popular tendency to look for ways to further one's education at international colleges and universities.

How schools can prepare students for aboard education

Studying abroad is unquestionably crucial for a person's overall development, including both intellectual and personal growth. It also helps young people establish their independence and discover their position in the world. Additionally, attending a course abroad enhances a student's language skills and fosters a curiosity about other cultures that aids in their independent learning of life skills.

“Going to another country/overseas for higher education has become a common dream with increased access and awareness. However, students and families must navigate this decision with attention to all important details — the program of interest, universities under consideration, opportunities for learning and growth at the university and in the country, safety, cost of education, the readiness of the student, support available, application and admission processes. Understanding each of these factors takes time to explore, process and verify, all coming together to ascertain fitment and suitability for a rewarding experience, says Amrita Ghulati Director-Academics, IC3 Institute.”

The following are some other ways in which the schools can help students with education abroad:

Bridge the gap: As many parents and even administrators are not in a position to be able to do so, it is crucial that teachers provide the connection to study abroad. Teachers must leverage their enthusiasm for study abroad to inspire and promote it among students. They need to reach every student and demonstrate to them that studying abroad while speaking a foreign language is actually feasible and advantageous. They need to teach students to be joyful, organised, competent, experienced, structured and consequential.

Language skills: Students who study abroad are exposed to many cultures and will need to converse with many people who speak various native languages. Teachers should emphasise language competency while educating pupils in order to prepare them for learning new languages and adjusting to different cultures in the future.

Statement of Purpose: Writing a concise Statement of Purpose (SOP) is crucial when applying for a course at a foreign university because it is one of the most essential factors that colleges or universities look at when assessing a student's profile. The teachers in the classrooms can assist the kids in creating an exceptional, sincere, and captivating SOP, increasing their chances of being chosen. The lecturers can provide the students with appropriate guidance because they are aware of their job prospects and the breadth of the topic of study they wish to follow.

Last but not the least:

Make the students aware: The majority of study abroad programmes are of consistently high quality, however some are better and more generous than others. Many provide fundraising assistance as well as scholarships, sometimes even full rides. Additionally, choosing a course, a university, and a nation can be very complex for both students and their parents. In this situation, school teachers can help pupils navigate the process of pursuing a profession in a foreign nation.
