Sarthak Palwankar

Meet Sarthak Palwankar from thane city, Mumbai. He is an officer in merchant navy,a world traveller and an artist par excellence! he loves to sketch whatever he gets to admire and appreciate while his job takes him, however his muse remains the same-“mother nature”.

Wherever he gets chance, he puts his creativity to work, medium could be anything and brings alive what his eyes see through his minds eyes! if you ask him whether he is happy with where he is right now, he would just smile and say, ”never be satisfied with what you have!”

It is an eternal quest for more that Sarthak is enjoying right now as an artist, moving through everyday life. Here he shares his journey and what matters the most to him here is a tete-a-tete with the maverick who is a maestro inside. On his ongoing trip to Cartagena, Colombia and genoa, Italy he shares his journey with us and some life lessons he follows

1-Be passionate and inquisitive about everything around you, it can be applicable in your professional or day to day life as well, it can be a tough when you are exploring a new place in a short period of time but you really have to be excited  the moment i stepped in Cartagena Colombia i started to see change in terrain, people and environment which challenged me to capture all the experiences which it has to offer. You may be out of your comfort zone however it is important to cherish every moment.

2- Talking to locals- to know their culture and tradition you have to be talkative make connections to get to know about the must visit local places, some hidden gems and avoid scams. a smile followed by greeting can be a great icebreaker.

3- Art a universal language – while i was finding a perfect spot for painting i came across group of artist in colonial puerta del reloj square, being an artist i got connected and end up capturing a beautiful view of the old town overlooking the bocagrande sidewalk at a distance.

4-Don’t be afraid to create opportunities – this is applicable in our day to day lives as well, as a photographer and an artist to get a good composition you have to sometimes direct people, objects or create a scenario, it can be only possible when you step outside your comfort zone and show leadership, while in the old town of Cartagena i came across a situation where i had to stop the traffic in order to not include any objects/people in a photo.

I love to share my travel experiences to the world and wish to have my own travel host/channel as i grew up watching travel and discovery channel which got me travelling the world, world is a beautiful place and one must fulfill his/her bucket list, at the end of my stay i try to leave my footprints by presenting a signature artwork capturing the essence of the place called travel artwork, follow my journey on my social handle instagram- @sarthakartworksdesigning and facebook- @sarthakpalwankar.
