Infinix INBook X1

The cheapest notebook on our list has a lot to offer. The InBook X1 features an Intel 10th Generation i3 processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM and a 256GB SSD. The machine runs Windows 11 and weighs just 1.48kg. The screen is a 14-inch Full HD IPS panel and the computer has an HDMI 1.4 port, a headphone port, one USB 2.0, two USB 3.0 ports and two USB-C ports. You can charge the 55Wh (workhour) battery using either the provided cable or USB-C. The entire laptop is encased in aluminium and gives a premium feel. And there is a choice of three colours - Aurora Green, Noble Red and Starfall Grey. An interesting feature is the hardware button which disables the microphone and the 720p webcam to give you watertight privacy. While the price is great, Infinix is still a newcomer to the laptop market and hence doesn't have much of a reputation yet. If you are willing to take a risk, this is the best deal on a mid-range laptop.

Lenovo IdeaPad 3

The Lenovo Ideapad 3 comes with a 10th Generation Intel i3 processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM (expandable to 12GB) and a 1 TB hard drive. It has a 15.6-inch-wide HD screen (1366 X 768) with narrow bezels. It also houses a webcam that comes with a privacy shutter. The 45Wh battery offers up to 9 hours of run time and comes with a 45W charger. The connectivity options on the laptop include a USB 2.0, two USB 3.2, an HDMI port, a 3.5mm Audio jack and an SD card slot. The laptop comes preloaded with Windows 11 home and Microsoft office. While this is a very well-known brand with an offering at a relatively low price point, there are some trade-offs: A lower screen resolution and a physical 1TB hard drive that is not as fast as a modern SSD. That said, Lenovo has a good service network in India.

Asus Vivobook 14

ASUS is a pretty innovative brand when it comes to laptops, but they make normal machines such as the Vivobook 14 as well. The device features a 14-inch Full HD screen and a 720p webcam in the bezel. The touchpad includes a fingerprint scanner for additional security. The Vivobook comes with a 42Wh battery and can be charged using the included 65W AC adapter. This laptop is light at just 1.6kgs, keeping it light on your shoulders all day. The Vivobook is a solid laptop with some good pedigree. Asus is pretty good with service and they have a good network across the country too.

Dell Inspiron 3511

The Inspiron 3511 features Intel's 11th Gen i3 processor and comes with 8GB of DDR4 RAM (expandable to 16GB) and a 1TB hard drive. The laptop has a 14.96-inch Full HD screen with a 720p webcam in the bezel. It has several connectivity options including two USB 3.2 ports, one USB 2.0, an HDMI 1.4 port, a 3.5 mm audio jack and an SD card reader. The device has a 41Wh battery pack that can provide up to seven hours of backup. It comes with Windows 11 pre-installed, along with Microsoft Office Home and Student 2021. Dell is a great laptop brand with a very good service network. The laptop isn't the best in the looks department and the physical hard drive is not ideal, but overall, it can be a very good investment.

Xiaomi's sister brand Redmi has recently begun selling laptops starting with the RedmiBook 15. The laptop features a newer 11th Generation Intel i3 processor, combined with 8GB DDR4 RAM and a 256GB SSD. It has a large 15.6-inch Full HD screen; it also houses a 720p webcam. The Redmibook has many connectivity options: A USB 2.0, 2X USB 3.2, HDMI 1.4, LAN, 3.5mm audio port and an SD card reader. There is no USB-C port. The 46Wh battery offers up to 10 hours of uptime and can be charged with an included 65W power adapter. The laptop is housed in a polycarbonate case with a brushed metallic finish. The RedmiBook 15 comes installed with Windows 10 Home, Microsoft Office Home and Student; however, it is eligible for a free Windows 11 upgrade too. Honor Magicbook X15

The Magicbook X15 is housed in an aluminium body that's just 16.9mm thick and weighs around 1.56kgs. The laptop runs a 10th Generation Intel i3 processor, with 8GB DDR4 RAM and 256GB SSD. The device comes pre-installed with Windows 10, but you can upgrade to Windows 11 Home for free. It can last for 7.3 hours on a single charge, thanks to its 42Wh battery which can be charged quickly with the provided 65W USB-C fast charger. The power button doubles as a fingerprint scanner, allowing you secure access without a password. A unique feature of the laptop is the pop-up web camera hidden amongst the keys, offering privacy when needed. The laptop has several connectivity options including a USB-C, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, HDMI and a 3.5mm audio port. Though a well-known offshoot of Huawei, Honor isn't known for its laptops. However, the price is compelling enough to take a risk.
