Lindsey Vonn
American skiing champ Lindsey Vonn, 37, has voiced her apprehension on investing in cryptocurrency and called it volatile.
Cryptocurrency is a collection of binary data which is designed to work as a medium of exchange wherein individual coin ownership records are stored in a computerised database using strong cryptography. It helps to secure transaction records, to control the creation of additional coins and to verify the transfer of coin ownership.
"I have small investments in crypto, but I don't have any major holdings with it. I think there's still quite a bit of volatility in it, and I don't entirely trust it yet," Vonn told CNBC.
The three-time Olympic medallist wants to do a bit more research on the new financial investment option before diving in fully. "I've read all the reports [about crypto]. And obviously, globally, it makes a lot of sense," she said.
