The Indian Premier League 2022 edition, its fifteenth overall, will begin on March 26. As part of our build-up to the historic IPL tournament, today, we take a look at those cricketers who have a hat-trick to their name in the cash-rich T20 league.

Laxmipathy Balaji: The Indian fast bowler became the first cricketer to claim a hat-trick in IPL during his stint with Chennai Super Kings in 2008. (Pic/ AFP)
Amit Mishra: The Indian spinner was the second cricketer to take a hat-trick in IPL as well as the only player to achieve the feat on three occasions. He did so for three different teams - Delhi Daredevils in 2008, Deccan Chargers in 2011 and Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2013. (Pic/ AFP)

Samuel Badree: The West Indies bowler who played for Royal Challengers Bangalore, took an astounding 4 wickets for 9 runs in the match against Mumbai Indians
Aussie fast bowler Andrew Tye was the second player to bag a hat-trick in 2017 IPL during the game against Rising Pune Supergiant. He took 5/17.
India's Jaydev Unadkat was the final bowler to take a hattrick in 2017 during Pune's game vs Sunrisers Hyderabad. Unadkat took 5/30.
It was after 2 years, in 2019, that a hattrick was taken again in IPL - courtesy Sam Curran. The English all-rounder, who played for Punjab, took 4/11 against Delhi Capitals.
India's Shreyas Gopal stamped his name at the 2019 edition with a hattrick for Rajasthan Royals against RCB. Gopal bagged 3/12.
Harshal Patel: The IPL sensation of 2021 playing for RCB, was the third bowler to take a hattrick against MI. He bagged a brilliant 4/17.
