The qualifier one between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad ended in KKR's favour. Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata will now play the finals of the IPL 2024 on May 26
Having opted to bat first, Sunrisers Hyderabad were bowled out for 159 runs, thanks to Kolkata's lead pacer Mitchell Starc. The speedster claimed three wickets for 34 runs in his four overs
No other SRH batsman was able to score huge runs, except for Rahul Tripathi who scored 55 runs off 35 deliveries. In an attempt to take the game deep, Heinrich Klaasen smashed 32 runs but was later dismissed in Varun Charavarthy's over
Later, with the help of skipper Pat Cummins' knock of 30 runs, the side was able to post 150 onboard against KKR
Kolkata's opening duo Sunil Narine and Rahmanullah Gurbaz registered 23 runs and 21 runs, respectively. Both lost their wickets after providing KKR a blistering start
After the dismissals of the opening pair, Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer played unbeaten knocks helping the side chase the target
Shreyas Iyer in his knock smashed 5 fours and 4 sixes. His 58-run knock came in 24 balls. Venkatesh Iyer on the other hand, scored 51 runs off 28 deliveries including 5 fours and 4 sixes
