Virat Kohli completed 5000 runs against Australia across formats. He became only the second batter to do so after Sachin Tendulkar who leads the chart with 6707 runs against Australia.

On Day 2 of WTC final, Steve Smith smashed his 31st Test century and his 9th one against India. He equalled Joe Root’s record of scoring maximum tons vs India.

Rohit Sharma became only the third Indian batter to complete 13,000 international runs as an opener after Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag. He is the 11th opening batter overall to achieve this feat.

Travis Head and Steve Smith registered the highest 4th wicket partnership at The Oval. They built a 285-run partnership in the first innings of the game to earn a strong head start for Australia.

Shardul Thakur smashed his third Test half-century at The Oval in as many innings. He joined Don Bradman and Allan Border in the list of ‘Most Consecutive 50-plus scores in Tests by a visiting batter at The Oval’.
