GT hope for huge win over KKR to improve poor NRR

The Titans have an uphill task to book a place in the Playoffs. The 89 all out at home in the loss to the Delhi Capitals will hurt them the most, even if they win their final two matches to finish with 14 points

Skipper Shubman Gill believes in miracles, and with that conviction, the Gujarat Titans will take on the high-riding Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday at the Narendra Modi Stadium here.

The Titans have an uphill task to book a place in the Playoffs. The 89 all out at home in the loss to the Delhi Capitals will hurt them the most, even if they win their final two matches to finish with 14 points.

They have the worst Net Run-Rate (-1.063) and at the end of the league phase, there could be more than two teams with 14 points jostling for a place in the Playoffs.
The positive for the Titans is Gill getting back to form after five poor matches on the trot. He scored a century while stitching a record-equalling opening partnership (210 runs) with another centurion, Sai Sudharsan, against the Chennai Super Kings.

While Gujarat are exulting after their comfortable win over CSK on Friday, the Knight Riders are also high on confidence after outplaying the Mumbai Indians in a rain-shortened match at home on Saturday.

The Knight Riders have qualified for the Playoffs, but would look to continue their winning run to top the 10-team table.

KKR's playing XI seems to be a complete package, while GT strike as a team that have enough missing pieces to be a force to reckon with.
