India on Tuesday became the first team to beat Australia at The Gabba in over 32 years when they defeated the hosts by three wickets in the fourth and final Test and clinched the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2-1.

Chasing 328, India achieved the target in 97 overs with Rishabh Pant remaining unbeaten on 89. Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara also scored 91 and 56 runs respectively.

Needless to mention, cricket fans back home were ecstatic by this historic test win. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Amitabh Bachchan, congratulated Team India on social media.

However, a couple of tweets by Anand Mahindra and Shashi Tharoor stood out among the sea of congratulatory messages. In their typical style, the ace businessman and politician trolled the Australian team and stayed true to the cutting spirit of India when it comes to cricket.

Tharoor tweeted a graphic of former cricketers, who had said that India "are going to get hammered in Test series."

And clapped back at all of them with his word of the day - Epicaricacy.

Epicaricacy is defined as rejoicing at or deriving pleasure from the misfortunes of others.

"#WordOfTheDay: Epicaricacy! I am not the gloating kind but there's a special pleasure in reading these comments today... When everything else has been said, what remains but "wow"?! #IndvsAus," Shashi Tharoor said in his tweet.

Known for his witty tweets and tongue-in-cheek one liners, Anand Mahindra also had a scathing response to the same graphic which went viral on social media.

Take a look:

This is the first time Australia have not won at The Gabba since 2012.

Back in November 2012, they had drawn against South Africa. Following that draw, they beat England (twice), India, New Zealand, Pakistan (twice) and Sri Lanka.
