On February 8, Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party, PTI, held a large rally in Swabi to protest what they call a "stolen mandate" in last year`s general elections. The rally marked the first anniversary of the election loss, which PTI referred to as a "Black Day." Party leaders called for protests across the country. However, the government banned rallies in Punjab, Balochistan, and Islamabad, allowing protests only in Swabi. PTI demanded the release of all jailed leaders, including Imran Khan, and called for the resignation of the current government. The rally was part of PTI’s ongoing efforts to challenge the election results and the ruling government.
