On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Bima Sakhi Yojana, a new initiative by the state-owned Life Insurance Corporation (LIC). The scheme aims to empower women financially by enrolling 100,000 women as Bima Sakhis within a year. It is designed for women aged 18 to 70 who have completed at least Class 10. Modi highlighted that this program will help provide social security to households across the country. In addition to launching the scheme, he also laid the foundation stone for the main campus of Maharana Pratap Horticultural University. The initiative is expected to create new opportunities for women, helping them play an important role in their communities.
