In recent developments regarding the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the Congress party has announced its decision on 96 Assembly seats as of October 21. However, unlike other parties, they have not yet released a list of candidates. The Congress plans to discuss seat-sharing with allies Sharad Pawar of the NCP-SP and Uddhav Thackeray of the Shiv Sena UBT again on Tuesday October 22. Tensions arose when reports surfaced that the Shiv Sena UBT might leave the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition. Allegations suggested that Sena leader Sanjay Raut had met with Union Minister Amit Shah to discuss this. Both Raut and Congress state president Nana Patole have dismissed these claims as mere rumors, attributing them to misinformation spread by the BJP. Patole, who was in New Delhi to negotiate with party leaders, expressed hope that discussions would conclude soon.
