There`s a major update in the Kolkata rape horror. On August 28, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) suspended Dr. Sandip Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, amid a CBI probe into the alleged rape and murder of a trainee doctor at the institution. This decision followed a second round of polygraph testing on Ghosh by the CBI. The investigation was prompted by a High Court order to probe alleged corruption at the college. The CBI has also questioned nursing staff, ward boys, and security guards at RG Kar Hospital. The case has sparked widespread protests across India following the discovery of the trainee doctor`s body in the seminar hall on August 9. The IMA`s disciplinary committee stated that the suspension was a unanimous decision in response to the ongoing investigation and public outrage surrounding the incident.
