In the escalating conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, Israeli forces have reportedly eliminated Ibrahim Muhammad Qabisi, commander of Hezbollah`s Missiles and Rockets Force, in an airstrike in Beirut. This operation is part of a broader campaign by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), which has targeted over 1,300 positions linked to the Iranian-backed group. In response, Hezbollah launched a barrage of rockets, most of which were intercepted by the IDF. The violence has resulted in significant casualties, with over 560 people killed and 1,800 wounded, marking one of the deadliest phases of hostilities in Lebanon. The two sides have been embroiled in cross-border confrontations since the onset of the Gaza conflict last October, intensifying the already volatile situation in the region. As tensions rise, both sides continue to engage in retaliatory strikes, further complicating the path to de-escalation.
