Cyclone Fengal: Chennai Airport temporarily shut, heavy waterlogging in Chennai

Cyclone Fengal has thrown normal life out of gear in the Southern states of India. Severe waterlogging was witnessed in parts of Chennai district amid heavy rainfall. Chennai airport has been shut till 7 pm. Relief camps have been set up at multiple places for people living near the coastal areas. Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin inspected the food preparation that is being done for relief camps, at Royapuram. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Cyclone Fengal is expected to make landfall close to Puducherry, along the Tamil Nadu coast by today evening.
