Michael Kugelman, the Director of the South Asia Institute at Wilson Center in an interview, shared his concern on rising tension in Bangladesh. He also shared his worries regarding increasing instability in Bangladesh. He has elaborated on the issue of police shortage and uncommitted military response that has resulted in a significant security gap. This vacuum is being worsened by violent demonstrations as well as targeting religious minorities, majorly Hindus. If law and order are not restored rapidly, Kugelman fears that it will be very difficult for the country to go through a smooth political transition.
