Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has announced compensation for the victims of the terror attack in Reasi district.

Terrorists opened fire at a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi district, resulting in the tragic loss of nine lives and injuries to 41 others. The incident occurred as the bus was en route from the Shiv Khori temple to Katra.

Following the terror attack, the district administration established a control room to provide necessary assistance to the affected individuals and families. Rescue operations have been conducted swiftly to mitigate further harm

Efforts are underway to neutralize the perpetrators responsible for the terror attack. The police have formed five teams to conduct a comprehensive search operation in the area.

Eyewitnesses reported that at least two terrorists were involved in the attack. The militants fired upon the bus, causing chaos and panic among passengers.

Survivors of the attack recounted harrowing experiences, detailing how the terrorists continued firing for about 15-20 minutes, leading to casualties and injuries. Individuals like former Sarpanch Bhushan Uppal rushed to the scene to aid the victims.

The Indian Army, State Disaster Response Force, and other security agencies have mobilized resources to secure the area and conduct search operations. Drones are being utilized to survey the dense forest terrain.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha condemned the cowardly terror attack and assured swift action against the perpetrators. He reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring justice for the victims and holding accountable those responsible for orchestrating the violence.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took cognisance of the situation and directed continuous monitoring of developments. He emphasised the importance of providing the best medical care and assistance to the injured. 

The Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor affirmed that all injured individuals would receive the best possible medical care and assistance. He assured the affected families of government support and reiterated the commitment to upholding security and peace in the region.
