Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar adjourned the House shortly after the laying of papers and called a meeting of floor leaders at 11.30 am. The first adjournment lasted for an hour until 12 noon.
When the House reconvened at 12 noon, Deputy Chairman Harivansh announced another adjournment for 15 minutes. At 12.15 pm, the House was adjourned once again until 2 pm due to the ongoing deadlock.
The chairman did not specify the reason for the adjournment but objected to the DMK members' T-shirts with slogans. Dhankhar held discussions with floor leaders of various political parties to resolve the issue.

Several leaders reportedly supported the smooth functioning of the House. The chairman indicated that the upper house is likely to resume normal proceedings after the meeting.

Dhankhar stated that he would share details of what he witnessed in the House during the meeting. The protest highlighted the DMK’s stance on the issue of fair delimitation in Tamil Nadu.
