A chlorine gas leak incident in Dehradun's Jhanjra area prompted the evacuation of residents on Tuesday.

The leak led to complaints of breathlessness among the local populace, necessitating swift action to ensure their safety.

Promptly responding to the situation, authorities evacuated the residents of Jhanjra to safe locations. This measure was implemented to safeguard the affected individuals from the potential hazards associated with the chlorine gas leak.

Fortunately, despite the concerning incident, there have been no reported casualties. The immediate response from authorities helped ensure the safety and well-being of the residents in the affected area.

Ajay Singh, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Dehradun, highlighted the coordinated response by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and other security forces. 

Upon receiving reports of individuals experiencing breathing difficulties due to the chlorine gas cylinder leakage, emergency response teams were mobilised to the Jhanjra area.

The agencies mobilised at the site included the Police, NDRF, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and the fire department 

Authorities are actively engaged in actions aimed at ensuring the safe disposal of the leaked chlorine gas. The coordinated efforts of the response teams aim to mitigate any potential risks posed by the leaked substance.
