Constructed over 500 years ago by Cheet Swami, a disciple of Mahaprabhu Ballabhacharya, the Thakur Shyama Shyam temple holds historical and spiritual significance, embodying centuries of heritage.

Thackeray declined to comment on political queries posed by reporters post-inauguration, steering clear of engaging in political discourse during the event.

Accompanied by party MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, Thackeray paid homage at the Yamuna River, offering prayers amidst Vedic chants, showcasing a spiritual aspect during the visit.

Beyond the Thakur Shyama Shyam temple, Thackeray and Chaturvedi also visited the principal deity of the Srikrishna Janmasthan and sought blessings at the Bankey Bihari temple, enhancing their spiritual tour in Mathura.

Chaturvedi spearheaded the refurbishment of the Thakur Shyama Shyam temple, aided by N R Alluri's Nagarjuna Foundation, demonstrating efforts in preserving historical religious sites.

Thackeray expressed his intention to visit the Ram Temple in Ayodhya once its construction concludes, emphasizing continued reverence towards the spiritual centre.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024, following an invitation extended by the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Tirtha Kshetra.

The foundation stone for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 5, 2020, following the Supreme Court's 2019 verdict on the Ayodhya dispute.

The construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya has been steadily advancing under the supervision of the Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust, aiming to enshrine the idol of Ram Lalla in the temple's sanctum sanctorum.
