Many structures have been flattened, while large craters have emerged after the landslides at Mundakkai junction and Chooralmala Town in Wayanad

The tiny junction in Mundakkai and the moderate town in Chooralmala had been dotted by shops and concrete structures. However, large boulders have now occupied the two areas, which wear a deserted look even a month on after the tragedy  

The roads have been washed out and it has become difficult to commute in the rough terrain

In the first week of this month, the Kerala government announced that it will establish a township in a secure area to rehabilitate those displaced by the catastrophic landslide as most of the homes have been washed away or damaged in Wayanad 

Wayanad residents Shruthi and Jason at the Puthumala graveyard to pay respects to Shruthi's family who died in the landslides. Shruthi and Jason will be getting married in September
