The Uttar Pradesh police on Wednesday posted a creative video on Twitter to send out a message to the people of the state. They used a scene from the 1975 cult classic "Sholay".
The 23-seconds video clip shared by Uttar Pradesh police shows a scene from the movie in which iconic villain 'Gabbar', played by late actor Amjad Khan, spits in the open. As the video moves further, the film's protagonist 'Thakur', played by late actor Sanjeev Kumar, catches the villain.

"Why was 'Gabbar' punished?" reads the running text on the video. The video ends with the message that "spitting in public places can increase the risk of spread of COVID-19 and it is a punishable offence".
The video has garnered over 3.25 lakh views and over 5,000 retweets. Commenting on the post, one user said, "Good message by this clip", while a second user commented, "Spitting and smoking at public places should be strictly banned". A third user wrote, "Epic UP Police. Awesome. You people are doing amazing job cleaning my home state. I love you for this."
