A 16-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped from near her house in a village in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh and raped, the police said on Sunday, the PTI reported.
According to the police, the girl was kidnapped by one Vishesh Tiwari alias Raja, a native of a village under the Sahatwar Police Station on February 7, as per the PTI.
At the complaint of the girl's mother, a case under sections 363 (kidnapping) and 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her marriage) of the IPC was registered against Tiwari, according to the PTI.
Superintendent of Police Dev Ranjan Verma said that police arrested Tiwari from near his house on Sunday and the girl was rescued.

The girl in her testimony said Tiwari raped her for about two and a half months, the SP said.
On the basis of the statement, section 376 (rape) of the IPC and section of the POCSO Act were also added to the case, police said, the news agency reported on Sunday.
Man held for raping minor girl in Navi Mumba
Meanwhile, in an another incident, the Navi Mumbai Police in Maharashtra on Sunday arrested a man for allegedly raping a seven-year-old girl residing in his neighbourhood in Navi Mumbai township, an official said, reported the PTI.
The 40-year-old accused and the victim were residents of the same building in Ulwe area, an official said on Sunday.
According to the PTI, on Saturday evening, the victim went to the house of the accused for playing. The accused then allegedly raped her, the official from NRI Sagari police station said.
The police said that the accused had earlier also sexually assaulted the girl, showed her obscene photographs and asked her not to inform about it to anyone, as per the PTI.
After the offence on Saturday, the girl informed her mother about it. The victim's parents then filed a police complaint following which the accused was arrested, the official said.
The accused was booked under Indian Penal Code sections 376 (rape), 376(2)(j)(n) (rape of a female under 12 years of age or a woman incapable of giving consent), 376AB (rape of female under 12 years of age) and 506 (criminal intimidation) and provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the police said.
