Cabinet ministers were allotted portfolios a day after the NDA formed the Central Government on Sunday. A meeting was held today at the PM Modi's residence in Delhi to discuss the division of ministries with the Union Ministers.
Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh retained their ministries for a third term. Amit Shah hold the Home portfolio while Rajnath Singh head the Ministry of Defence. J.P. Nadda has beeen appointed as the new Minister of Health replacing Mansukh Mandaviya.

Nirmala Sitharaman will also retain the Ministry of finance for a third term. Nitin Gadkari and S. Jaishankar have also retained their ministries with the former being Transport Minister and the latter holding Ministry of External Affairs.

Notably, Ashwani Vaishnaw retains railway and Meity portfolios while also getting charge of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Kiren Rijiju has been allotted Parliamentary Affairs Ministry. While Chirag Paswan will now head the Food Processing Industries Ministry that earlier belong to Rijiju.
Jyotiraditya Scindia has been appointed as the head of Telecom Ministry. He earlier held the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
HD kumaraswamy has been handed the Ministry of Heavy industries and steel.
Piyush Goyal has been appointed to head the Ministry of Textile. Goyal is also the MP from Mumbai North Constituency.
ML Khattar, former Chief Minister Of Haryana, has been given charge of two ministries in the Narendra Modi-led cabinet - Power and Housing and Urban Affairs Ministries.
Shivraj Singh Chauhan was alloted Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Ministry of Rural Development. Hardeep Singh Puri retained the Ministry of Petroleum.
Minister of States were also allotted portfolios today. Bandi Sanjay has been handed the Home portfolio while Jayant chaudhary was given the Skill Development portfolio. Actor-turned-politician Suresh Gopi is MoS for petroleum and tourism while George Kurian is MoS for minority affairs and animal husbandry.
